If You Want Peace... Be Still.

"And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him (Jesus) even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, “Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, “What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" - Mark 4:36-41 (KJV)

We in the Kingdom tend to get worried at times. At times, it seems as if we prepare to faint in the day of adversity, (trials, tribulations, stress & pressures of life.) Many of us were taught as children the the prayer beginning, "Now I lay me down to sleep..." Whereas later in life, we learn the "Model Prayer" of Jesus found in Matt. 6:9-13, and we proclaim the words, "Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done." We share with one another that we want God's will to be done in our lives, yet when it is... we abhor the process of going through, in order to reap what God has for us, hoping instead for quick "Holy Ghost hook-up," as opposed to a promise fulfilled in patience. I consider the cross I bear, and I too have pleaded with the Father in the same words of Jesus, "...O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." - Matt. 26:39 (KJV) Paul reminds the Romans of Psalm 44:22, "Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter." We remind ourselves these days, that the Godly will suffer persecution, just as our saviour did. But still we ask God... "Why?" Oftentimes, we experience the most resistance, pain & struggle when we impatiently attempt to move things forward, or speed them up on our own. The Word tells us over and over again, to patiently wait on the Lord, and to stand on His Word and on His promises, not to look at the situation, but to look to the One, who is the Solution. Time and time again, I hear the words, "Oh child... I'm just worried..." and I cut em' off. Naturally, we ponder situatuions, yet we're not to live by the natural, but by the Spiritual. The scripture tells us not to worry about what we'll eat, drink, wear, etc. Nor about tomorrow, for if God clothes the grass in green, feeds the birds, ants, etc. then shall He not surely provide for us? For He already knows our every need. (Matt. 6:30-34

When we stand in, live by, and walk by Faith, then we operate in the knowledge that we will not lack, for through obedience, we obtain abundance. I listen to many who've been hurt in all sorts of relationships, on their jobs, in their families, in the church, their marriages, etc. Anmd they're afraid to move forward, afraid to love again, they're in fear of being hurt. Bishop T.D. Jakes has a book titled, "Loose That Man and Let Him Go." I'm here to tell you, ladies and gentlemen alike, to HOLD ONTO THAT MAN and NEVER LET HIM GO, his name is Jesus. He'll take the pain, and the source of it away, bringing you to a place of peace and joy, from simply being still, and abiding in him. In one of my favorite passages, there's a verse that reads, "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." - Psalm 27:14 (KJV) Waiting requires faithpatience, and trusting the Lord to bring whatever your need may be, to come to pass. The psalmist tells us to "be of good courage," not to gripe, moan and complain. I love the passage in Isaiah that basically says, we' will be empowered, so why be weary? "Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." - Is. 40:28-31 (KJV) I'll let the Word speak for itself...

“For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie...;” - Hebrews 6:13-18 (KJV)

Though the enemy wants us discouraged, feeling defeated, disappointed, neglected, friendles, and much more... Every thing we need in this life, has already been, and will be provided by God, when we are in Christ, when we abide by the Word, and when we walk by Faith, and not by sight. If you're reading this, and you're not saved, or you don't know Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour, inbox me, and I'll tell you about, and introduce you to a friend who will forgive the wrongs you've done, who'll always be there for you, and never leave you alone. All you have to do is believe in him, accept him, and confess him, you can grow from there. Then we can all be still, obtain the peace that surpasses all understanding... and know that He is God. You're in my prayers... Be blessed.

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
