Considering loving oneself, part of my status today says, "And be confident, yet humble, not proud, boastful, nor conceited. "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." - James 4:10 (KJV) If we carefully study the Word, (2 Tim. 2:15,) we'll be able to grow in wisdom, and understanding. But hearing, and not doing, is fruitless. Every single word, letter, and punctuaion mark applies to EACH of OUR everyday lives. Yet many refuse to accept that truth, and look for a "good word" for themselves when they need it. God laid a blueprint out, and all we have to do is follow it. Be humble, but walk in the power & authority we've been given. Love is one action that fulfills the entire law.
"Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation." - Psalm 91:9-16 (KJV)
"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD." - Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)
Proverbs 1:7 (KJV) - "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
I just love that verse, for it shows that we have a choice; to take heed with wisdom, or foolishly walk in our own ways. Faith without works is dead. He says, if we love Him, then we'll keep His commandments, and to keep them is to write them upon our hearts, to walk in them, to live them. "And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness (lust)." - Ezekiel 33:31(KJV) To hell with what and who you've gained OUTSIDE of the Kingdom. It's worthless, and it'll be left here when you're gone, if it doesn't leave you you here first. Let it all go for God. "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it." - Mark 8:35 (KJV) Obedience is greater than sacrifice.
