Inward Adornment

“A woman must not put on men’s clothing, and a man must not wear women’s clothing. Anyone who does this is detestable in the sight of the Lord your God." - Deuteronomy 22:5 (NLT)

It's plainly, clearly written and naturally obvious that men shouldn't wear women's clothing & vice versa. For God's sake, there's not a man alive that "looks right" in dress, make-up, etc... However, some "spiritual leaders," pastors, preachers, etc. Have twisted even this scripture in the respect of saying that women CANNOT wear pants at all. this is biblically unsound and false doctrine, smh. Unfortunately, due to their lack of understanding, and failure to apply proper *exegesis* when studying the scripture, (ex·e·ge·sis - eksiˈjēsis noun 1. critical explanation or interpretation of a text, esp. of scripture.) "the task of biblical exegesis"... There's no basis for claiming that's what was inferred by this scripture, when in, or out of context, either at the time this was written, nor throughout the Bible, NOBODY WORE PANTS for they didn't exist. By all means, don't fall for the foolishness, and be led astray by those who claim to know, and truly know nothing. It is written, "Study to show YOURSELF approved. A workman needs not to be ashamed RIGHTFULLY dividing the word of truth." 2 - Tim. 2:15

"The same goes for the following scripture, "Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price." - 1 Peter 3:3-4 (KJV)... Used to claim that women should remain covered, not wear make up, etc. And they neglect the words which follow, picking portions of scripture to their liking to deceive & mislead the congregation... Cross-reference & compare this with the Hebrew meanings, as well as other scriptures, and the message is thus, "Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel — rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror." - 1 Peter 3:3-6 (NKJV)... To break it down a little more, "The same goes for you wives: Be good wives to your husbands, responsive to their needs. There are husbands who, indifferent as they are to any words about God, will be captivated by your life of holy beauty. What matters is not your outer appearance—the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes—but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way, and were good, loyal wives to their husbands. Sarah, for instance, taking care of Abraham, would address him as “my dear husband.” You’ll be true daughters of Sarah if you do the same, unanxious and unintimidated." - 1 Peter 3:1-6 (MSG)... Women, it's perfectly fine to beautify yourselves outwardly, yet don't let it outweigh the inner adornment of your hearts with God. This means to avoid vanity, self-loathing & adorning yourselves with the intent or hopes of being seen by some man. God has called us to a life of freedom and liberty in Christ, not the rules, and traditions of the scribes and pharisees, whom Jesus himself called hypocrites... Come from among them.

"Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work." - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (AMP)
