Living the New Life

"Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father." - Colossians 3:1-17 (NLT)

"If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" - 2 Corinthians 5:13-17 (NLT)

We're leaving an entire year behind us. Along with it, let us leave it's worries, cares, troubles, and EVERY person, place, thing or idea that's held us back, dragged us down, EVERY issue, yoke and bondage that's had us constrained, and submit EVERY thing to Christ. Time is long overdue that we LET GO of the past, and EMBRACE the NEW in Christ... Should you not be saved, this is yet another opportunity to start a fresh and new life in Christ. Christianity is not a religion. It's a relationship with God, through Christ. As we draw nearer to Him, He draws nearer to us. If you believe in your heart the Lord Jesus Christ, and confess with your mouth that God has raised Him from the dead, you WILL be saved. It's a daily growing process. Let God have His way... EMBRACE the NEW.

A Way That Seems Right...

"When they arrived, Samuel took one look at Eliab and thought, “Here he is! God’s anointed!” But God told Samuel, “Looks aren’t everything. Don’t be impressed with his looks and stature. I’ve already eliminated him. God judges persons differently than humans do. Men and women look at the face; God looks into the heart.”....... Jesse presented his seven sons to Samuel. Samuel was blunt with Jesse, “God hasn’t chosen any of these.” Then he asked Jesse, “Is this it? Are there no more sons?” “Well, yes, there’s the runt. But he’s out tending the sheep.” Samuel ordered Jesse, “Go get him. We’re not moving from this spot until he’s here.” Jesse sent for him. He was brought in, the very picture of health—bright-eyed, good-looking. God said, “Up on your feet! Anoint him! This is the one.” - 1 Samuel 16:6-7, 10-12 (MSG)

We pray. We ask... And the moment we think we've received, often becomes the moment we've been deceived, most commonly by our thoughts, our plans, wants and desires, unknowingly spoken in the face/ears of the enemy. Nevertheless, when we completely surrender to God, only trusting in the Him, being led guided, reassured by His Spirit, combined with the senses He gave us to fully search the things of the natural. We then avoid much wasted time, disappointment, heartache and pain. In this particular case, should Samuel had chosen any other of Jesse's sons of his own volition, (by what He saw with his eyes,) the giant Goliath wouldn't have been defeated, and the Philistines would have claimed a victory, redirecting & delaying God's purpose, plan and will. However, he remained stern, steadfast and strong in the spirit until he came upon the least likely to defeat a giant, (by man's opinion/vision,) in David, one whom praised God all the day long, tended sheep in the fields, writing psalms/songs of praise to the Lord in whom He trusted in ALL things, a man after God's own heart... Thankfully, delays are not denials. For as we make decisions that are vital to the course of our lives daily, we must apply not only our common senses, not ignoring the unseen character, and warnings to those decisions, but also hearken unto, listen intently, and by the spirit of God, look upon the heart of those we deal/interact with in our business and personal relationships. Then... We can live our lives peacefully, joyfully, and abounding in the increase, blessings and favor of God.

Take heed... “The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful, a puzzle that no one can figure out. But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.” - Jeremiah 17:9-10 (MSG)

Separation By Spirit...

It's something how spiritual growth, speaking, living by, and standing on the Word of God, causes us to separate from many things, places, and some people... Ironically, some people choose to separate themselves, and if we're too hard-headed, stubborn, or headstrong to take heed to God's guidance, direction, and clearly, big & bold lettered, "THIS ISN'T WHAT I WANT FOR YOU, BECAUSE IT DOESN'T LINE UP WITH MY WORD, LOVE GOD" sign, then He'll remove the thing we're holding onto, already healed while we feel broken... It's not that the other party doesn't believe in God necessarily, though we find many don't, or they may not understand the concept of faith, believing in which they cannot touch or see, but some may not have the same zeal, or passion that we may possess... In essence, we don't have the same relationship with Him, unequally yoked, not on One accord, definitely on different pages, often different books. And some just don't wanna hear what the Word says, thinking every scripture is about them, their sin or their situation. It's not that at all... Every scripture may not apply/pertain to one's particular situation, but EVERY single  letter, word, scripture, passage, chapter, book, and the entire Bible applies/pertains to EACH and EVERY one of our lives. We have the choice of whether or not to accept, and apply it, to choose, peace or confusion, deliverance or disgust. Job is quoted as saying, "I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food." - Job 23:12 (NKJV)... Now it's more than what's necessary, that would mean that it's vital... Likewise, "But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” - Matthew 4:4 (NLT)... We MUST grow in wisdom & knowledge of the Word of God, strengthening our relationship with Him, abiding by the gospel of Christ to our utmost as believers. We won't be perfect, but we'll grow into perfection... As for me, those who know me, know that as a person, I never changed... However in spirit... I transformed. (Rom. 12:1-2)

Being Saved Doesn't Make Us Instantly Perfect: Growing Out of It... Share This With Those You Love.

My thing is... I think people have a misconception about being saved. Being saved doesn't mean you live a perfect life. Perfection DOES NOT EXIST in this world, not on the earth at all. We are made perfect through grace. But that doesn't happen until we're transformed when Jesus returns. Don't forget that the bible also says, "We are ALL sinner's ... and have ALL come short of the glory of God." Need another one? How about, "There is NONE righteous, no not one." or, "We are not saved by works, but saved by grace." and most importantly, Jesus said, "I came NOT to call the righteous, but SINNERS to repentance." So don't be scared and think that you have to walk on eggshells to be a Christian. We ALL sin in one way or another, in some way, action, deed, or thought... daily. The thing is... when you know better, and you WILLFULLY sin, and you completely disregard God. Then you're in trouble. Your actions don't keep you saved either. Check this out...

Mark 8:38 - "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

Luke 5:30-32 - "But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

John 14:12-18 - "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

Romans 8:10-19 - "And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God."

And on top of all that... Jesus said that once one has come to him, He'll always abide with you. He will never leave you, nor forsake you. He doesn't have come come back to you, because He never left, you turned away from Him, but He's still there waiting on your return. There's only sin that WILL NOT be forgiven, and that's blasphemy (blatant denial) of the Holy Spirit. As scuffed up, and scarred up and as dirty as you have been, and for a while WILL continue to be, He's still there waiting. You can join us in heaven, or fight us from hell. It's your choice... God will always love you, and I love you anyway.

And this is from Him, through me. One that has prayed for His protection while I was in the midst of committing sins. If anyone can, I can tell you what the Lord can do. And I've still got a long way to grow.

"And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." - Mark 8:34

Still Standing...

"These things I command you, that you love one another." - John 15:17 (NKJV)

I am immovable, far from impressionable, yet predictable by abiding by what's scriptural... I am a child of the King, servant of the Most High, I retain the humility not to boast that I'm a minister.

You see, that's my assignment, my purpose as it were. To spread the uncompromised gospel to each and anyone. I remain to stand tall, the Truth I proclaim, no ulterior motives, only to love & bless everyone.

I've painfully grown teeth, and my soul has been conditioned to digesting the meat. It's washed down with the sincere milk of the Word, which is a solid foundation, building upon the wisdom and Kingdom knowledge I seek.

The Words that I speak, and the Truth I write, correspond to the life that I live. A passion for acting, yet only on stage, a pure heart in all, is all that I give. I practice what I preach, and at times challenging as it may be, I walk forth boldly, without fear.

I'm aware that the stone which was God's precious jewel, was the very same stone that the builders refused. Hated, despised of and rejected by men, His life was given, that ours would begin.

Imagine a friend that loves you so much, they'd lay down their life that you'd retain such. A must it is to them that you'd retain joy, unrest they endure, that peace may be yours.

"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends." - John 15:12-13 (NKJV)... Not only is it this that is written, herein is no deception, the Word is what I'm living.

"The love of heaven makes one heavenly." - William Shakespeare

"You have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." - Marcus Aurelius

Merry Christ Mas: Clarity

It’s the holiday season, and being that our celebration of Thanksgiving is now over, we now approach the biggest shopping and gifting holiday of the year, Christmas. Those of whom celebrate it normally make purchases, (some elaborate,) for our close friends and family. Our children often get that major toy/game system they’ve always wanted, and many lovers, (true lovers,) take their relationships to the next level, transcending them into engagements. It’s usually quite a joyous and “merry” time for all, yet there are also occurrences which weigh heavy upon the hearts of many worldwide. Behind some of the cheerful looking smiles, there lies the pain of loneliness. Beneath the bright & jovial expressions, perhaps there’s grief, and the mourning of a recently deceased loved one who’s been called Home to glory. While the monies are being spent, and the advertisements of sales, gifts, Santa Claus, elves, reindeer and snowmen, take over the television, and our relatives prepare to join us for one or two of their multiple meals, some accompanied by multiple holiday drinks, as the majority of us tend to overlook the actual reason for the season, and exactly what it is that we’re celebrating… Personally, I wanted to take this opportunity to dissect the phrase, “Merry Christmas.” Of course I’ll begin where it makes the most sense to, which is In the beginning… A quick look at the word, “merry.”

Merry: (adj.) laugh·ing

1.  that laughs or is given to laughter: a laughing child.
2.  uttering sounds like human laughter, as some birds.
3.  suggesting laughter by brightness, color, sound,
4.  laughable

It seems pretty clear to me that to be “merry,” is to be joyous. Now for the second, “Christmas,” I’m going to split that one up… “Christ.”

Christ: (noun)

1.      Jesus of Nazareth, held by Christians to be the fulfillment of prophecies in the Old Testament regarding the eventual coming of a Messiah.
2.      the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament (used chiefly in versions of the New Testament).
3.      someone regarded as similar to Jesus of Nazareth.

Well… There we have it, The “Christ” in Christmas is intended for us to reflect upon the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God, the savior of the believing Christians of the world. Per studying the Bible, we see nothing regarding pine trees, candy canes, reindeer, sleighs, a “Santa Claus,” people exchanging gifts with one another, but definitely bearing gifts to Him, as an infant.
And the last portion, “mas.” Now we have no American/English definition of this, yet we do have a definition in Spanish…

- mas: mercy ≈ la misericordia (noun) compasiĆ³n

1.      to have mercy on somebody
2.      to beg for mercy
3.      to be at the mercy of

Is it really that ironic that “mas,” in Spanish, means mercy in English? The phrase that we use so often in saying, “Merry Christmas,” is actually a directive for us to be filled with joy & laughter for Christ’s mercy, rather God’s mercy upon us for giving His Son to bear the cross for our sins, before we were even formed in our mother’s womb… We serve a Great and Mighty God, and He’s full of love, forgiveness, grace, mercy, and “much” more… This year, in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, the shopping, cooking, eating & drinking, take just a moment to thank God for the birth of our risen savior, Jesus Christ, the “real reason” for the season... Have A Very Blessed and Merry Christmas

The Birth of Our Saviour: My Christmas Story...

Can you imagine a young woman being visited by an angel, receiving a message from God, that she'd give birth to the savior, to the Messiah, to the Son of God...

Imagine the look upon her face, for she'd never known a man, had never... intertwined here flesh with one. Yet I could see the mixed tears of fear and joy rolling down her cheeks, for she simply believed. She knew that this task, this charge, this blessing, this gift... came directly from the mouth of God... But hold up...

Envision the expression on the face, and the reaction of her beau, her boyfriend, her man, her fiancee Joseph. Though he'd had an experience foretelling him too, picture him when she told him, "I'm with child."... We've read the text, we know that he secretly planned to follow the customary action of writing her a letter of divorcement. Yet the scripture doesn't make it clear what his "reaction" was, if his emotions overwhelmed him and his speech became as he'd "lost his religion," or whether he simply said, "I thought you were a virgin. You lied to me." You see, Joseph knew where he'd "been," and where he "hadn't been."... He didn't need to ask anyone else, didn't need to see a doctor, and didn't need to wait until the birth of the child for a test result that states, "You are NOT the father." No, no, no no, no...

See, God knew that He was dealing with a man that knew Him. He knew that like Jesus, Joseph would never leave, nor forsake, never abandon Mary in her... condition. He knew that Joseph was a man of Faith, that would trust Him. So when trouble came, when he & Mary became as a laughing stock, as outcasts, when they had to flee, he stayed right there by her side. He didn't give up, nor give in when there was no room at the inn, or that inn... or that inn. He was there to provide for her as much as he could, not only because he loved her, but also that he trusted God to provide the rest. After all it is written, "If any man provide not for his own, specially those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel." We need more "men" of faith like Joseph. Single mothers, I feel your pain, fellas man up and take care of your kids... and hers too. The old folks used to say, "If you want the milk, you gotta take the cow too." (or something like that, lol...)

This world, which we are in, but not of, celebrates this day by bearing/exchanging gifts to one another, which there's nothing wrong in that, for it's better to give than to receive. Yet the bulk of credit, glory, honor and expectation all go to the fat guy in the red & white suit, as opposed to he whom shed his blood where it is due. There's a fireplace with a chimney at my mother's house, yet I never expected to hear deer on the roof, neither anyone to come down the chimney, (especially in the hood,) for I was told at an early age, "There ain't no Santa, there ain't no Claus, there ain't nobody but ya mo' and ya paw." The greatest gift of all was given to the world thousands of years ago, that through our belief in him, the world may obtain grace, mercy, justification, and most importantly salvation leading to everlasting life. The day he was born, like his return no man knows the day, nor the hour, but Tuesday, we'll celebrate the birth of our Savior. There's no harm in saying, "Merry Christmas." But if you haven't done so, please take a moment and say, "Happy Birthday Jesus." I love y'all... Happy Holidays To You & Yours!!!
